Plans Finally Revealed for 2010 and Beyond

All your questions have finally been answered! In the Valentine's Sunday edition of the Erie Times News, Ed Palattella spilled the beans about Waldameer's plans for the 2010 season and beyond. Read all about the new cashless system from CORE Cashless Systems and the proposed plans for a flying carousel in 2011.

What about the Season Passes mentioned in the Erie Times Artical?

Interesting choice of location for the carousel. Would have thought they would have moved a ride that large more inland rather than that close to the hillside. At any rate, are they going to need to re-route the train again to put that in?

Season passes are here! Unfortunately, we cannot sell any until we have our new website up and running. Once the website is functional (before the end of February)you will be able to buy season passes as well as many other items via our website.

The flying carousel will not cause the train to be rerouted. And putting the ride that close to the hillside is going to give a great view of the lake, Presque Isle and Peninsula Drive!

No doubt that there should be some amazing views from that spot. Always enjoyed the view from the Giant Wheel. Although, it might be nice with the carousel being a fairly quick ride that they might slow down the wheel a bit.

Can't wait to see the new website. Hopefully, there will be a printable park map. The last one available online (that I could find, anyway) was from 2002, and we all know how much the park has changed by then!

Some parks/attractions with cashless systems will not let you re-convert your points back to cash - forcing you to be stuck with leftover points that you paid for and can't use. I hope this does not work that way.

We are so excited for Waldameer! We love the park and the feeling for families. We wish you the best of luck in 2010 and can hardly wait to get a season pass.

The Zamperla Flying Carousel is a beautiful machine and a great choice for Waldameer. While the spot they plan on putting it in will be great with the views and such I'm afraid it might look a little crowded with the Ferris Wheel and Sea Dragon also in that corner.

On a side note I'm hoping that the addition of Mega Vortex is just the beginning of future expansion in that part of the park. Mega Vortex was a great addition that livens up that far end.

Waldameer is known for making use of all the space it can. The flying carousel will fit perfectly into the train circle with beautiful landscaping and plenty of benches to enjoy the view. Much like the Mega Vortex expanded the top of the midway, the bottom of the midway will be extended with the addition in 2011!

Any specific date the website will launch?

As the website comes alive behind the curtain, small details are ironed out and more fun-filled Waldastuff is packed in for your informational and entertainment enjoyment. This week is as good as any for the web site to launch.

When can we buy season passes?

You won't have to wait much longer to browse Waldameer's new online store. As with all technology, it is a process. Possibly this week, but don't hold your breath.

This is terrible, it's almost April and you guys still don't have the online store up to order season passes.

If you can believe it, we at Waldameer are anticipating the opening of our online store even more than you are! There are always snags when starting something brand new, especially when dealing with technology. All we ask is that you continue to be patient as we work to get our new systems working.
