- Waldameer is a family-oriented amusement park located in Erie, Pa and was established in 1896. Waldameer literally means "woods by the sea" in German. It was named this because the park is less than a minute from Presque Isle on Lake Erie. Waldameer's waterpark, Water World, complements the large variety of rides with its slides, wading pools, endless river, and hot tub. Waldameer's ballroom, Rainbow Gardens, hosts dances and events throughout the offseason. The park features many picnic groves available to be rented for large groups. Waldameer has rides for everyone: children to adults. Recently, new thrill rides have been built including: The Steel Dragon roller coaster, the X-Scream drop tower, and the Ravine Flyer II roller coaster. The park is also constructing a Mega Disk'O ride for the 2009 season!
